SIENA, Italy — Alex Zanardi, the Italian car racing winner-turned-Paralympic gold medalist, was transferred to a neurological rehabilitation center Tuesday, a month just after finding very seriously wounded in a handbike crash.

The Siena healthcare facility that had been managing Zanardi since the June 19 crash introduced that the athlete had been released but, in accordance with Zanatrdi’s spouse and children, did not say wherever he was taken.
