PARIS — Renault and U.S. hydrogen specialist Plug Electrical power introduced a joint enterprise to create hydrogen-driven mild industrial autos.
The new enterprise, named Hyvia, will be similarly owned by the two corporations, Renault and Plug Electrical power reported in a joint assertion on Thursday.
Hyvia’s pursuits will be carried out at existing Renault amenities in France, with the head business office and the R&D teams located at the automaker’s mild industrial vehicle engineering and growth center in Villiers-Saint-Frederic.
The method, manufacturing and logistics teams will be centered in Flins, exactly where assembly of gas cells and recharging stations will commence by the close of the calendar year.
Renault at the moment has gas mobile variants of the Learn and the tiny Kangoo van, with various hundred units of the Kangoo on the road in Europe, with a vary of about 350 km (218 miles).
The very first new autos from the joint enterprise will be centered on the Renault Learn and will be designed at the Batilly plant. The vans will have a vary of five hundred km to 600 km (310-370 miles), Renault’s head of engineering, Gilles Le Borgne, reported when the enterprise was declared in January.
The joint enterprise will be chaired by David Holderbach, who the corporations reported has over twenty several years of knowledge in strategic, solution and international profits at Renault.
